Muay Thai if you want to learn self-defense

Most people are afraid of learning martial arts. This fear is far from surprising when you consider its origin. And its origin lies in the fact that all people are disinclined to jump into fights where there is the threat of physical violence. We dislike being hurt, and we dislike the possibility and probability of us getting hurt. It’s that simple. But if you work through your fears, then you will realize that martial arts training is one of the best things that you could be doing in your life.

Our point with the previous paragraph was to say that you could be training martial arts no matter who you are. One of the best martial arts in the world is the martial art called Muay Thai. Of course, you could take this martial art as a sport in which you can compete with other people in a controlled environment. But Muay Thai was first created as a self-defense skill, and by learning it you will know how best to defend yourself in a dire situation.

Now, the fact of the matter is also that there are typically more men that train martial arts than women. This too is quite understandable when you realize that the most powerful hormone in the male’s body is testosterone – and this is a hormone that drives men towards aggression and risk taking. This hormone is also present in women, but in far lower amounts, which predisposes women to dislike violence and martial arts.

But you can train Muay Thai no matter who you are, plain and simple. There are a lot of women that have tried training martial arts, and they have realized that it’s the best thing that they are doing in their lives. So, there is really no excuse on why you shouldn’t be training martial arts and Muay Thai. No matter who you are, you should at least try training. If you don’t like it, then quit. But we have a mighty hunch that you will end up liking it, and that you will enjoy training Muay Thai for a long, long time.
